About the Author:
Anja Koch has been a plant enthusiast since her early teens. Growing and cultivating plants has always been one of her favorite pastimes. Having finished school in Germany she began an apprenticeship as a landscape gardener.
This was followed by a professional program in landscape design and involved a thesis on Robinsonian Gardens. Anja moved to Ireland in 1997 and since then has built up an award winning garden centre and nursery business. Trading and dealing with the amateur gardener on a daily basis for over 13 years has taught her the challenges and problems that people face when it comes to growing plants and indeed gardening in general.
On her website www.gardening-advice.net Anja and 'Little Miss Greenfingers' help gardeners around the globe to grow and develop the gardens of their dreams.

My Review:
First of all, I must say that the book is really attractive in visual meaning! The pictures inside and the font make the book more interesting and enjoyable. Also I love the quick tips about growing herbs. The book gives information about how to and where to (inside - outside) grow your own herbs. From the containers (shape, material, etc.) and soil you need to use, to the space suitable for them, from where to buy the seeds and preparation of these, to the detection of the sick plants and how to look after them, you will find all the vital information in this book, because the details are very informative. You will also find the plant types defined in the book, so you can choose which one to grow!
Think about it. We live in a world where almost everything is subject to chemicals. Everything we eat has some sort of hormone, additives, etc. and these sometimes make us sick! Don't you ever feel tired, have stomachache, heartburn, etc? What do you think the reason is? The world has become such an "artificial" place that everything is almost against our nature. But I don't think this will come to an end, unfortunately :( However, we can start at some point making healthy and natural things for ourselves. For example, start reading this book and set to work to grow your own herbs and vegetables for your delicious salads, soup and herbal teas! You will not regret and you will feel happier and more energetic. The pleasure of growing something is very precious. I absolutely recommend this book if you want to be your own personal gardener.

  1. I am super excited about growing some herbs. I have always wanted to grow herbs but never really knew where to start or what to do with them.
