Book Description:
Kathy Williams looked every part the successful career woman.
At a time when women were just emerging into high-profile jobs, she had it allan impressive title, a wonderful husband, beautiful children, a good home. But it was all just a façade.
In reality, her salary wasn't enough to maintain her family's comfortable lifestyle, and they had to keep up with the Joneses, after all. As director of investment banking for AMA Global Investments in Manhattan, New York, she had access to clients' funds, what amounted to millions of dollars. Opportunity was in her hands; the door was wide open for financial gain. She gave in to temptation, to the devil's whisperings. Just a few dollars won't hurt. They won't even notice. They have millions of dollars in their account. They don't even know what to do with their money.
Taking a little here and a little there and moving some numbers around, Kathy was able to pad her own salary. But it wasn't long before she was caught and sentenced to eleven years in prison. Realizing how far she had fallen from grace, Kathy turned to Christ, asking forgiveness for her sins.
Sentenced to Life is Kathy's story of how she fell into temptation but was able to overcome challenges in her life and ultimately find peace and victory over her own lustful desires and misguided actions through a close relationship with Christ.

From the Author:
My book Sentenced to Life is a book of encouragement to those who have lost hope, to the discouraged and depressed, to the down-trodden, that there is hope in The Lord Jesus Christ. No one is a nobody because we are all somebody in Christ.
My Review:
This is a book (with many texts from Bible) that tells the life cycle of a woman, whose life turns from bad to good. The book is narrated in the first point of view of a woman, who was tempted by Devil to have more money in an unhonest way, but then repented and turned to Christ to be forgiven and to clean from all of her sins. As it has a first point of view, it gives a sense of autobiography and it is told in minute detail in a successful way. First, the book cover is very striking. You can see the past (youth) and present (age) of a woman who spent her years in prison. It presents a comparison sense in a dramatic way.
The book starts with the young and free life of Kathy, the main character of the book who is trapped by the Devil's whisperings and encouragement, continues with her prisoner life and ends with her old but free life again. Once a sinner, she finds the true way in prison by turning to God. She learns to be close to the God and Christ. She wants to be free from her sins. She behaves well, attends the church, reads Bible, talks to God and develops herself in whatever way she can do in the prison environment.
Even when her mother and husband die from an ilness, she does not leave the God. She is away from her family, her children, but she is close to God. She feels the comfort there in her heart. After she is entirely released from prison, she continues her life as a missionary in Philippines for some years. She wants to share what is inside her with other people. After she returns from her duty, she knows that she found the peace and reality.
PS: Whatever religion we belong to, we believe the same God.
My Favorite Quotes:
- Reflections are good, but sometimes they bring grief, sadness, and unanswerable questions.
- I know God was trying to get my attention so many times, but I was too busy running around and listening to the devil. So God had to set me down in a place where I could not hide from him.
